2023

  • Klap launches App Klap, the first solution in Chile that allows in-person card payments using a cellphone.
  • Klap absorbs its subsidiaries Pincenter and PCT, dedicated to telephone recharges and gambling sales respectively, allowing for efficiency in its operations.
  • Klap integrates with Amex, enabling our customers to receive payments with this card brand.
  • Klap exceeds 3 million daily processed transactions.

2022

  • Klap starts providing acquiring services to PSP's that use their own POS machines.
  • Klap launches a positioning campaign in outdoor advertising, television, and social media.

2021

  • In February, Multicaja changes its brand and commercial name, becoming known as Klap. As a result, Operadora Multicaja is renamed as Operadora Klap. The legal name remains as Multicaja S.A. and Iswitch S.A.
  • Klap has been awarded the acquisition tender for the Fonasa branch network. Fonasa is the Chilean Government's health insurance institution.
  • Klap develops plugins to enable E-commerce websites to utilize our payment methods on platforms such as JumpSeller, WooCommerce, Magento, and PrestaShop.

2020

  • In April, Multicaja begins to accept payments with CuentaRUT VISA and closed CuentaRUT cards.
  • In August, the threshold of 4,000 businesses making sales with credit, debit, and prepaid cards is exceeded, achieving sales worth 5 billion pesos.
  • In September, Multicaja is already operating with VISA credit, debit, and prepaid cards. With this, the offer with brands in terms of credit, debit, and prepaid is completed.

2019

  • Electronic vouchers start to be commercialized as a replacement for invoices, allowing businesses to abandon the "5x1" system.
  • On July 1, Multicaja sells its digital businesses to Krealo, a subsidiary of Credicorp Group Peru. Multicaja maintains the acquiring services in both the physical and online worlds.
  • It is announced that UnionPay authorizes Multicaja as an acquirer in Chile to accept credit, debit, and prepaid card payments both in physical stores and online. Technological developments begin.
  • In October, Multicaja conducts its first transaction with a UnionPay card.
  • Multicaja is certified by VISA as an acquirer to process their cards.
  • By the end of 2019, the relationship between Multicaja and PayPal ends, with the latter becoming Tenpo-PayPal.

2018

  • The National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE) approves the acquisition of Megacompra contracts by Multicaja S.A., initiating the migration in January.
  • It is announced that Visa authorizes Multicaja as an acquirer in Chile to accept payments with debit, credit, and prepaid cards both in physical stores and online. Technological developments begin.
  • Multicaja requests authorization from the SBIF to issue prepaid cards.

2017

  • Multicaja obtains PCI (Payment Card Industry Compliance) certification to operate credit cards.
  • Mastercard certifies Multicaja as an acquirer to process credit cards.
  • In December, Multicaja conducts its first transaction with Mastercard credit cards.
  • The SBIF and the Central Bank of Chile issue new regulations on the issuance of non-bank prepaid cards, opening the opportunity for Multicaja in this market.

2016

  • Mastercard authorizes Multicaja to accept payments with debit, credit, and prepaid cards in physical stores and online. Technological developments begin.

2015

  • Multicaja acquires the contracts and operations of GetNet, expanding into more than 1,000 merchants of phone recharges sales.
  • Together with PayPal, it launches a service that allows Chileans and foreigners to open PayPal accounts and add dollars through transfers from Chilean peso bank accounts, regardless of whether they have an international credit card.
  • Multicaja receives for the second consecutive year an award from the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and the Latin American Institute of Commerce in the "IT Services and Ecommerce solutions" category.

2014

  • It seeks to establish an agreement with banks, Visa, Mastercard, and Transbank to offer credit and debit card payment services in all Multicaja's businesses. However, the project does not materialize due to the lack of authorization from the SBIF (current CMF) to Transbank.
  • Multicaja is recognized by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and the Latin American Institute of Electronic Commerce for its service of withdrawing dollars from PayPal accounts to Chilean pesos, in the "Financial Services and Online Banking" category.

2013

  • Multicaja signs an agreement with PayPal to facilitate the conversion of dollars from Chilean and foreign accounts to Chilean pesos through bank transfers.

2012

  • Santander and Santander Banefe join as associated banks to the correspondent banking service of Multicaja, allowing money orders, deposits, mortgage credit payments and consumer loans, and credit card billing.

2010

  • Iswitch acquires NetComercio, expanding the network of merchants that accept cards from commercial houses to more than 8,000 points.

2009

  • The subsidiary Multitarjeta is founded, authorized by the Central Bank to operate with debit cards.
  • Multicaja initiates its correspondent banking services with Bci, Bci Nova, and Tbanc, enabling the delivery of money orders, receipt of deposits, and mortgage credit payments.
  • Acquires Iswitch, becoming the national leader in processing payments with closed commercial house credit cards.

2008

  • Multicaja begins operations with the first telephone recharges.
  • Acquires 70% of Pincenter, one of the country's main distributors of phone recharges.
  • Reaches a strategic agreement with Sodexo (now Pluxee) and Edenred for merchants to accept electronic food cards, provided by JUNAEB and private companies.

2007

  • The company Multicaja S.A., commercially known as Multicaja, is registered.
